Important information about the nature of the content on our website and the basis on which our services are provided.
The information published on the Makeba Markets (Pty) Ltd website and related channels is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute, and should not be construed as, financial, investment, legal, or tax advice, or a recommendation or solicitation to enter into any transaction.
Unless expressly agreed in writing, the Company provides its services on an execution-only basis. Nothing on the Website or provided by the Company's representatives constitutes a personal recommendation that any particular product or transaction is suitable for your individual circumstances.
Trading in leveraged derivative products carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors. You could lose more than your initial deposit. Please refer to our full Risk Disclosure Statement before trading, and ensure you understand the risks involved.
Makeba Markets (Pty) Ltd is licensed by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority of South Africa under FSP 53160 as a Category I Financial Services Provider. The Company's services are made available to clients resident in South Africa, and, subject to applicable cross-border permissions and exemptions, to clients resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Australia, as further described in our Cross-Border Services Disclosure.
The Company does not offer its services to, and does not open or activate accounts for, persons resident in, or ordinarily located in, the jurisdictions named below. This list is compiled from three sources: jurisdictions where the offer of leveraged derivative products such as CFDs is itself restricted or prohibited by local law; jurisdictions identified by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) as posing a critical, uncooperative money-laundering or terrorist-financing risk; and jurisdictions subject to comprehensive international sanctions administered by the United Nations, European Union, United Kingdom, or United States that would prohibit the provision of financial services.
| Jurisdiction | Basis for restriction |
|---|---|
| United States of America (incl. territories and possessions) | Local law restricts the offer of retail CFDs / OTC derivatives |
| Iran | FATF blacklist & comprehensive international sanctions |
| North Korea (DPRK) | FATF blacklist & comprehensive international sanctions |
| Myanmar | FATF blacklist |
| Cuba | Comprehensive international sanctions |
| Syria | Comprehensive international sanctions |
| Russia | Extensive international sanctions on the financial sector |
| Belarus | Extensive international sanctions on the financial sector |
| Venezuela | Extensive international sanctions on the financial sector |
| Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions (Ukraine) | Comprehensive international sanctions on these specific territories |
Residents of jurisdictions on the FATF's separate list of Jurisdictions Under Increased Monitoring (the "grey list" — currently including, among others, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Haiti, Iraq, Kenya, Lebanon, Monaco, Syria, Venezuela, Vietnam, and Yemen) are not automatically restricted from opening an Account, but are subject to enhanced due diligence in accordance with our AML, CTF & KYC Policy and our PEP and Sanctions Screening Statement.
This list reflects FATF publications and international sanctions regimes current as of the effective date of this Disclaimer. Sanctions and FATF designations change frequently — the FATF reviews its lists three times a year (typically February, June and October) and sanctions authorities update their lists on an ongoing basis — so this list is reviewed and updated periodically and may not reflect the most recent changes at any given moment. In addition to the jurisdictions named above, the Company reserves the right to decline, suspend, or terminate services to any person, at any time and at its sole discretion, where required by Applicable Regulations, where local law or regulation in a person's home jurisdiction would make the provision of the Company's services unlawful, or where the Company otherwise determines it is not appropriate to provide services to a particular jurisdiction — regardless of whether that jurisdiction appears in the table above.
