Our commitment to the FSCA's Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles, and how we identify and support Clients who may be in vulnerable circumstances.
Makeba Markets (Pty) Ltd (FSP 53160) is committed to the Treating Customers Fairly ("TCF") principles promoted by the FSCA, and to identifying and appropriately supporting Clients who may be in vulnerable circumstances.
The Company aligns its business practices with the following outcomes:
The Company recognises that vulnerability can arise from factors including health conditions, life events, low resilience to financial shocks, or limited experience with financial products, and may be temporary, sporadic, or permanent. Staff are trained to recognise indicators of potential vulnerability during onboarding and ongoing interactions.
Where a Client is identified, or self-identifies, as being in vulnerable circumstances, the Company will consider appropriate measures, which may include additional explanation of products and risks, extended response times, flagging the Account for enhanced monitoring of trading activity, or referral to independent advice or support resources where appropriate.
The Company's marketing and educational communications are reviewed to ensure they are clear, fair, and not misleading, and do not create unrealistic expectations of profit or understate the risks of leveraged trading.
Staff and representatives receive training on TCF principles and the identification and support of vulnerable Clients as part of their induction and ongoing professional development.
The Company monitors complaints, client feedback, and trading patterns for indicators of poor client outcomes, and reviews this Policy at least annually.
